Andrea takes a look at the Tansu style
chest. Beth and I had done quite a few steps. It does look closer to being
finished.
Andrea is now starting to line up
the door and drawers exactly. We know that some trimming will be necessary,
but we want to be sure that what we remove is supposed to be removed. There
is not going to be a second chance at this point.
Andre
has cut the alignment strips from 1/8" plywood. We had used a crosscut blade
initially to slice the strips apart. Putting these strips in place, Andrea
can align the grain as it was exactly.
Once she has it where she wants it, she will trim the extras at the top and
bottom.

Using a Grr-ripper, Andrea can make safe and exact cuts.
With all the small adjustment cuts made, Andrea wants to be sure that there
is no shifting of pieces at this point.
She uses the nylon filament strapping
tape to hold the pieces in position.
Now she sands the sides and bottoms of
each drawer to custom fit them to the opening.
With the strapping tape holding the fronts in position,
Andrea works from the rear of the chest and sprays the accelerator of the CA
glue. The spray reaches the back of the drawer front and the overspray hits
everything inside the case, but will dry and not matter.
She applies some of the CA glue to the
drawer front.
She inserts the drawer into the space
and carefully presses it against the front which she is holding in place.
After 15 seconds, she can let go and move to the next drawer. This is one
more handy use of this quick set glue.
