I haven't received the Incra TS III Table Fence yet so it is a little tricky to do much in
advance of actually seeing the product. I do know that the rails are 72" long. Since
my table saw top is 28 wide, this means that router table extension can be 44" wide.
The Incra TS III will be arriving this next week, so I am making the router extension
table over-size and will trim it down later.
My gut feeling is that the 72" overall length may be more than I need by
6 or more inches. It will be nice to try the various layouts out before I make any changes
that are irreversiblelike cutting down the massive rail extrusions.

The "photos" above and to the
right are not actual, but cut and paste imagery that I have been doing to get an idea of
how the SuperStation will fit and look in the shop.
The photo above shows quite a short router table. The photo at the right has
a router extension table of the dimensions that closely approximate the 72" rail of
the Incra TS III.
It really looks spacious, and it sure would be nice, but as I said earlier,
it will help to have the actual in place and working.

One of the things I want to see
is the working orientation. My rough arrows on the pic at the left indicate where I would
be working for both the table saw function AND the router table work.
While this is normal for using the table saw, I am presently used to working
the other direction at the router table.

This would be more to my liking. It
would mean swinging the fence carriage 180o and use it in the other direction
when using the router table.
It might be easier for me to just get use to the first arrangement. Again,
that is why it will help to get it installed and then see.
I am making the router table in a modular fashion so that it can be slid into
the rails and can be oriented either way.

Well enough of the mind wanderings. I was
pleased to receive the Rout-R-Lift this week. This means I can get a head start on the
router table extension end.
One box contained the fully assembled unit and an accessory package of
inserts. It was securely packaged, and the first glance at the product tells me that
it is a precision and well made tool.
