The "SuperStation"

Many woodworkers have asked for my opinion of what I would do if I had to share a garage with a car. For years I had to do just that. Now, I feel very fortunate to have a 2-car garage that is dedicated to my woodshop. It is nice to have a good work flow between tools.
But, starting this week, I am developing what I will call a SuperStation. It will be a combination of table saw and router extension table—and a bunch of other "goodies" that can make woodworking more fun and better. I certainly do not suggest that you must have all these things to make your SuperStation work, but I do hope you can get some ideas from my SuperStation project.
I plan to be creating this SuperStation through August, Then, throughout the fall Maureen, Catriona and I will use it for fun projects—big and small.
Here is a list of the products that are currently a part of the SuperStation Plan:

"A"

Delta 10" Unisaw
This saw is the main stay of my shop and will become the starting  point of the SuperStation. There is no reason that your saw can't be the center point of your SuperStation, whether is be a cabinet saw or a contractors saw.

"B"

Incra TS III Fence System
I currently use the Excalibur fence. It works fine, but I have been wanting to try this Incra fence. You know how much I enjoy the accuracy of the many Incra products I have used over the past few months. Now I want to see if I can make this fence system work with the table saw AND the router station—in one unit.

"C"

Exaktor Sliding Table
Having had the Excalibur Sliding Table for years, I have been impressed with Phil Humfrey's new product. One nice feature of the new unit is that it can be unmounted very easily. When not in use, it can be stored elsewhere. I am also getting the smaller unit which will take less space. I want to see first hand how it will work with larger panels.

"D"

Jessem Rout-R-Lift
Just as the Incra System brings extreme accuracy to the router table in the "X" and "Y" axis's, the new Jessem Rout-r-lift, pins down the "Z" dimension, router height. The Incra and CMT series of "how-to's" have been tremendously popular to woodshopdemos' readers. I expect that the Rout-R-Lift will make accurate routing more possible.

"E"

Exaktor Overarm Guard/DC
More than likely, I will add this overarm guard from a ceiling mount. It is a good system but, for me,  the post always gets in the way—particularly if you want full access to the router station end of the table. Mounting it from the ceiling will be a good solution for this problem.

"F"

Delta Low Profile Dust Collector
The Delta low profile dust collector fits snugly under the sliding table or router table end. It will be connected to serve the table saw port, the overarm guard system and the router table.

My Unisaw has a mobile base. What I want to do is to make the entire SuperStation mobile...after all, there has to be room for the car. Part of the mobility will be made possible by moveable cabinets. I am already started on a cabinet that will serve as an outfeed table and will store the many, many parts necessary for the router station (bits, push blocks, hold downs, templates, etc.)

A variety of  projects for the SuperStation
When I get it all together, there will be a fair mix of projects including: more small chests, cabinet making basics, and furniture design and construction. The SuperStation will not be just a hobby place...it will be of interest to the professional as well...particularly if their space is at a premium.
Your comments are always appreciated
I have lots of ideas, but I will be the first to admit that there are many, many more out there. So, if you have any suggestions, questions, problems or projects that we should make with this SuperStation — anything at all you want to mention, please drop me a note at jlucasils@aol.com.
