You would think that on a day I had to go to the dentist, I would not want to talk about an ugly tool called "The Extractor." |

Here is the page from Lee Valley. Once I read that it was designed to pull nails, I knew I had to have it. I can't count the number of times I have had to pull nails or staples from projects. I always used vise grips but sometimes the staple just didn't want to come out. This tool is designed for those culprits so maybe it will be the tool of choice (assuming I can find this tool when I need it.) |

Wouldn't you know it, in searching the various cabinets in progress in the shop, there wasn't an errant nail or staple to be found. But I did use it on a Festool Domino. When you install Dominos for a dry fit and then take apart the cabinet for glue up, it can be a real task to get them out. The Extractor to the rescue. It works like a champ here. If you need more leverage, just use another Domino or two to raise the jaw. It is a cool tool. |
