I am a sucker for clever gadgets and when they are near
the check-out at my local Woodcraft store, it is a done deal. Seeing the
Wixey Digital Angle Gauge is just such an event, but a little different. I
wasn't all that sure why you would need such a device.

Then I remembered my table saw. It is a very good Unisaw
that I keep in pretty good shape, but long ago I was vacuuming under
the heavy table top and spent minutes removing the dust from the stops
of the trunion. The sawdust that was caked in there was throwing off my
vertical settings. So, I cleaned the stops and backed them out so that I
could crank in an accurate 0o's whenever I needed to and
without hitting the stops

Some years ago, we reviewed the Beall
Inclinometer. It used gravity to indicate the angle scale.

Some rare earth magnets were used to attach the
vertical pole to the blade.

Tilting the blade allowed you to read angles off the
venier scale — a very clever device.

Yes, it is the same picture as above. It
is just too nice not to repeat. I don't know if the .1o error is
an error or not. But the Wixey Digital Angle Gauge is a winner. It is the
digital answer to what has been an analog problem. You can find this gauge
at your local Woodcraft Store or on their website at
