New Product — "Incra Miter Express"

She uses the Allen wrench supplied to tighten the adjustment screws to take the side "slop" out of the track. It takes only a few minutes to get it to the point where it can slide smoothly and easily in the miter slot.

Now Elena has raised the saw blade and has started her cut through the off cut side of the jig.

Now with her blade back down, she can move the off cut piece and fasten it to the other miter bar. There are screws for fastening the top to the bar and other screws that allow her to lock the miter bar in the miter slot. At this point she wants just to fasten the top to the miter bar.

With it fastened, she can once again crank the saw up and cut the extra off.

Now, she places the off cut platform next to the blade and uses a T-wrench to tighten those screws that allow her to fix the miter bar in the miter slot.

She is almost ready to use the sled. A last operation is to apply some UHMW strips the underside of the moving sled. This will provide a smoother sliding action.

Now, Elena installs the V-27 "economy" miter gauge. It is easy to place in in the Miter Expresses' extrusion.  Rather than to use this setup, we opt for installing the Incra 3000 Miter Gauge.

The Model 3000 miter gauge has been locked in the Miter Express track and Elena is now fixing the fence onto the jig.

She adjusts the fence so that it is about 1/16" away from the saw blade.

This is a very safe cut. The workpiece is held by the clamp and Elena uses the enlarged knob on the gauge to make the cut. The tiny off cut doesn't get "shot" from the blade. On the contrary, it simply lays to the right of the blade.

Wanting to try an angled cut, Elena moves the gauge until the indicator reads 30 degrees.

Once again she uses the clamp to hold t he piece. That is a nice feature to have when the piece is small and the hand would have to be nearer the blade.  In this case, Elena can keep her hands way away form Harm's way.

Now she has placed a stop that came with the fence and miter gauge. It allows her to make each of the pieces to the exact same lengths. Note that she has removed each piece as it is cut and places it away from the off cut sled.

She pieces together her first perfect 6 sided piece. We will get a lot of use out of this new Incra Miter Express. It's another Incra gem.
