She makes the cut. Since the wood is 4"
thick at this point, she has set the plunge depth to just over one-half of
that. She will make this cut and then flip the piece and make the second cut
from the other side.

You can't ask for a much better cut than that. Now Jessica will flip this
piece and make the same cut from the other side.

She very carefully
sets the board under the guide rail. Accuracy here will make or break
this re-sawing method. We tried this both ways and the razor blade method
really lets you divide the saw kerf in half — and that is very accurate.

It is hard to believe,
but she can neither see nor feel the center point where the cuts meet.
She has a re-sawn board that is as smooth as the best bandsaw re-sawn board.

minutes and Jessica proudly displays the other resawn boards.
We have the other plank to do but that will be next time. There is
a simple "re-saw jig" I want to make. That's next time.
