With pieces routed, Maureen changes router bits and installs a 3/8" radius rounding
over bit.
After adjusting the router bit height,
she rounds over the edges that are marked for this radius rounding over.

With all the shapes done, Maureen
tackles the cut list for the straight boardsand there are many. She starts with
cutting of the slats that will form the back.
We have cut a piece of 1/4"
plywood that will serve as our layout board for the back. Maureen marks the center line.
Having marked the center line of one of
the slats, she carefully centers it on the layout board and clamps it in place.
The plans call for the slats to be
splayed out with the tops having a .87" spacing. We have cut spacers that dimension
to make the layout easy and accurate.
She positions the last slat in place.
You can see that the slats are touching each other at the base and she is using the
.87" spacer for the spacing at the top.
The instructions call for a 17"
radius for the top edge. Maureen uses a stick cut to that length and she has put a brad in
the center slat at 17" from the top. With this, she can scribe a perfect arc an all
the slats.
